Welcome to our shiny new blog! We’re excited to get started and share some of the exciting stuff going on in See The Difference Towers with you.
Since we went live in June, people just like you have been finding great projects at home and abroad and making a real difference (and then seeing the impact they made!)… So, to catch you up here’s some of the highlights of the last three months:
• A brand new kitchen has been built for the disabled children in Sri Lanka, and is being fired up daily
• A football pitch for street kids in Mombasa, Kenya, is being built (complete with flash-flood-proof moat) and kick-off is due to start imminently
• Sleepovers for children with disabilities are providing respite for parents and making dreams come true for children
• An entire Malawian school of 1000 children will have a meal to eat at school every day for a year so they can concentrate on learning and not on their rumbling tummies
• 70 kids have been cured of Jiggers, the flesh-eating sandfleas that stop them running and playing with their friends and even walking to school
• Children with cancer are getting to spend time with a specially trained pediatric nurse to answer all their questions and help them cope
• 50+ books are on their way to a library in a Nairobi slum, which helps the community come together (despite tribalism)
• Parents of children with disabilities are now learning how to help treat their children in their own home
We’ve been listening to feedback (both good and bad!) on how we can make seethedifference.org even better and have our techie team hard at work beavering away at bringing in some exciting new features (coming soon!).
